The Chartered Physiotherapists at New Forest Physiotherapy Southampton have helped thousands of people recover from pain and could help you recover so you can return to the sports and activities you love.
What can I expect from a physiotherapy assessment?
Before we treat your pain, our physiotherapists will conduct a thorough assessment. The aim of assessment is to diagnose the cause of your pain. Pain can be caused by poor posture, wear and tear in the joints, damaged ligaments, tendons or muscles. Your physiotherapist will find out your personal expectations from treatment, as these vary considerably from person to person. Some of our patients wish to return to competitive sport, others simply wish to be pain free whilst going about their daily lives.
Treatments available include;
• manipulation
• acupuncture
• ultrasound & TENS
• postural advice
• core stability exercises
• home exercise programmes
• deep tissue massage
Physiotherapists are highly trained in anatomy and physiology and, as part of our treatment, we will educate you, our patient, on your condition and how to manage it in the future. We also work very closely with orthopaedic surgeons and can offer advice and treatment for anyone considering an orthopaedic operation or help with rehabilitation following surgery, such as a joint replacement or ligament reconstruction.
